The Ulnooweg Development Group Inc. (Ulnooweg) hosts an annual run for youth. They requested designs to fabricate their first custom medals to give out to participants of each age group. Instead of focusing on placement in any division, Ulnooweg promoted holistic health practices and teachings by using the hieroglyphs that stand for nourishment, happiness and strength.

The designs began with creating basic shapes of the hieroglyphs. After refining these shapes, we introduced colour to the designs to differentiate depths and textures of the medals for fabrication. This helped Ulnooweg imagine what the result would be. Near the final refinement stage, we were also asked to include the animal characters used in existing materials for the run.
